CDTV in a modern settings, how to use this amazing device in a modern setting.

The Amazing CDTV (Commodore Dynamic Total Vision)

Released in March 1991 in North America, It was way ahead of its time and didn’t survive against the Philips cdi.

The CDTV was a 500 with OCS and 1MB chip Ram.

I’ve always wanted a CDTV and have it in an AV setup but:-

Keyboard is not long enough, neither is the mouse and the remote is good but not perfect.

So questions in my head. We need a solutions to have workbench boot with whdload, a wireless keyboard mouse and game pad but how?

Well after looking all over and finding a mouse to gamepad switcher as well as a keyboard to HID adapter, I then went hunting for a 2.4ghz wireless keyboard and gamepad.

Used TOM2 com to HID usb for the conversion.

I then set out to get a SCSI controller, hdmi out with the good old pi zero.

Biggest hurdle I found was the SCSI2SD v5.5 would not power from the scsi controller and was constantly corrupting even when copying over small amounts of data. I then saw people using the SCSI2SD v5.2 which actually regardless of version number is newer than the V5.5 strange but true.

I found that this did the same as the other on copying a lot of data, but I spend over a week finding the best solutions to get this to behave.

Using WINUAE I copied folder by folder checking boot up and no corrupt at every copy. which took two working days to get it all copied over after been interrupted as you do having to also do a day job.
